This page shows you how Unblock works with Yoast SEO, Rank Math, SEOPress and All in One SEO.

Supported plugins​

There is nothing to set up: when one of them is active, Unblock follows it.

In the editor​

Yoast SEO and Rank Math analyze your page as it shows: its texts, headings, images and links, your dynamic data and loops included. The analysis follows your changes before you save, a second or two after you stop typing.

SEOPress analyzes the page itself, when you open its analysis and after each save.

All in One SEO's analysis (TruSEO, readability) finds no words on an Unblock page: it offers no way to read it as it shows.

What the plugins fill for you​

When you leave a field empty, the plugin fills it from your page:

A description, an excerpt or a featured image you set always wins. All in One SEO takes an image from your page when its image source is "First image in content" or "Auto generate".

Common mistake

What the plugins fill comes from your fixed texts and images only. The posts of a loop, the content of a condition and a text holding an expression, such as {{ post.title }}, are left out. On a page built mostly from loops, write its description yourself.

Primary category​

When the plugin lets you pick a primary category, read it with its key:

For another taxonomy, Yoast SEO and Rank Math end the key with its name: _yoast_wpseo_primary_product_cat. When no primary category is picked, the expression gives nothing. All in One SEO keeps it out of the post's fields, where an expression cannot read it.

With your AI client​

Over MCP, your AI client reads and writes the SEO title and meta description of your pages and posts in your SEO plugin, with the unblock/get-seo and unblock/update-seo tools. It works the same way with the four plugins, on a site still in development too.

It writes them where you would in the plugin's panel, with the same rules: a user the plugin keeps out of its SEO settings gets an error. Its other settings, such as the focus keyword or the social texts, stay with the plugin.

Limits​

  • New page: Yoast SEO and Rank Math read it once you save it, as a draft or published.
  • Yoast SEO's highlighting (the eye button) does not reach Unblock blocks.
  • SEOPress's pre-publish checklist counts 0 words on an Unblock page. Its content analysis counts them right.
  • All in One SEO's analysis in the editor scores an Unblock page as empty. A description template mixing tags, such as #post_title – #post_content, is not filled from your page.
